APPLICATIONS |
||
Nervonic acid is a very long chain unsaturated fatty acid which is enriched in sphingomyelin, consists of choline, sphingosine, phosphoric acid, and fatty acid. A very long chain fatty acid is the high proportion of lipid to protein. Myelin is a soft, white fatty substance that coils a sheath around certain nerve fibers. It plays a role as an electrical insulator that serves to speed the conduction of nerve impulses. Nervonic acid may enhance the brain functions and prevent demyelination. | ||
